What is Dry Needling?
...It certainly is acupuncture...known as ashi-acupuncture
(to name but one)
There is a group of people, backed by professional associations, who are attempting to coordinate a better/safer industry for acupuncture. The graph shows the average hours required to gain accreditation and public liability insurance, to be allowed to start practising acupuncture on the general public.

Generally speaking, dry needling/ashi acupuncture is covered in the first few weeks of the Health Science Degree that a Chinese medical Practitioner/Licensed Acupuncturist will complete.

Sounds suss? We are talking about starting the acupuncture journey. Once a physical therapist has their qualification, this enables them to further seek continuous professional development (CPD) for advancing their skills; and some do. Maybe this is where a new governing body may impact the CPD courses a physical therapist needs to complete in order to maintain their accreditation and advance their understandings/abilities to coincide with the professional standards the Doctors of Chinese medicine & Licensed Acupuncturists maintain!?

That's just a thought? What do you think? What would you consider safe...when you take into account the graph that is presented. Who would you prefer to see for medically-related acupuncture?

It's hard to justify Licensed Acupuncturists as a legitimate stream of study for new university students when, with relatively minimal effort, someone can be taught theoryless physical techniques that undermine a complete medical system. Should the acupuncture stream of healthcare be governed by Acupuncturists? I would hope so! At the very least, an Acupuncturist (Chinese medical Practitioner) should be responsible for furthering the 'minimal standards' for medically-related acupuncture, a best-professional-practice!?

Q: Which service is right for you!?

A: Private, allows for time and space to treat more complex issues, or for more localised treatments on the back and abdomen. We can treat more complex cases in private appointments. Private sessions can allow for total bliss zones or a more sensitive space.

B: Community, offers a healing experience shared with your family, friends and like-minded community peers. These treatments rely upon acupuncture points, usually below the elbows & knees, where we can affect anywhere on the body (clever hey!). No need to undress!
